Kaena anyone?

It's that time again, the Albtross are nesting, the seals are basking, and when we are lucky, big waves are crashing. On a good day we get it all at the same time and the only way to know for sure is to go there. It is a bit of a trek, so heading out early is a plus. The return always seems longer, so packing some extra water in place of that super long lens is a good choice for me.
If you think you might like to make a group of it, let me know. I am thinking of the second Sunday in March for now. If any of us are interested in using a mountain bike to shorten the travel time, I'm up for that too.

Contemporary Museum Exhibit

The Contemporary Museum has a photo exhibit running through March 9th. Richard Misrach took his 8 x 10 view camera to a room above Sans Souci beach and, over time, came away with a fantastic collection of images. I consider this a must see for anyone who takes photography the least bit seriously. Techincally these are quite a feat, just to capture the decisive moment with such a instrument is difficult enough. He not only gets it, he delivers it in huge proportions and stunning detail with a message that can change the way you look at a beach forever. This is even more amazing, considering that Richard is not formally trained in photography.

Go and enjoy, Nick

Here are some members who atended the opening of our Canon Gallery Exhibit in June, as captured by Milton Chong.
A big mahalo to all who helped put it together!
