Title: Visual Explorations
Alison Beste is an artist, photographer and educator based
in Honolulu. Her current projects
revolve around the human impact on and relationship with the environment. Some projects are photographed at night,
utilizing low light and long exposure. In her words, “Photography is a means to
connect to your environment and to others.
A camera is a license to explore, learn and create relationships.”
Alison received her BA in art from the College of William
and Mary in Williamsburg Virginia.
Currently she is a Masters of Find Art low-residency candidate at the
Art Institute of Boston. For the past
eight years, she has taught photography and graphic design at Assets High
School with her students’ work winning numerous community awards and exhibiting
at local galleries. Alison also enjoys
working with adults and instructs photo-related workshops at Pacific New Media
at the University of Hawaii. Her next
