When: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Guest Speaker: Mr. Cliff Kimura
Topic: Optimizing Your Photos, from Camera to Final Product
While good composition and focus are essential to a good photograph,
optimizing after the camera can result to a great finished product. Cliff
Kimura is an expert at this and will show you his technique by working on
several examples.
Bio: Cliff's passion for
photography began with his Father's Canonet rangefinder camera in the late
60's. He quickly moved to the SLR mode by purchasing a Canon F1 camera, which
served him well for many years. There
was a lull in his photography as digital photography until Digital SLRs became
affordable. His passion reignited with
the purchase of his first DSLR.
Cliff took courses in photography and the B&W darkroom process in
the mid 1980’s. His true calling came
when in the 1990’s, he discovered a
program called Adobe Photoshop, which allowed him to work on photographs
without having to deal with special darkroom setups and hazardous chemicals. In
the late 2000’s he started using a new program from Adobe called Lightroom and
has been using it since then.
Over the past five years, Cliff placed regularly at the Maui County
Fair’s Photo Salon Contest, in 2012 he took first place in the open Color
Division. In 2013, his photograph, Killing Time was accepted to the
Contemporary Photography in Hawaii 2013: The Fifth Annual Statewide Survey
Exhibition. Recently he scores merit prints regularly at the Professional
Photographer’s of Hawaii quarterly print competition.
One of Cliff’s goal is to educate anyone interested in learning how to
use Lightroom or Photoshop and can talk about it for hours.

Does your society use a digitizing service. I just had all of my parent's wedding transfered to a digital format. It is great to not have to worry about those photos deteriorating.
